Spring Break 2011

As part of Mason's first official Spring Break, the Voth family headed to Wisconsin Dells for a little getaway and lots of family fun. We stayed at the Kalahari Resort, which offers both an indoor water park and theme park.

Cooper was captivated by all of the animal pictures and statues throughout the resort, which led to the quote of our trip "what's that."

The boys both immediately fell in love with the water park. We closed down the water park the first night (10:00 pm) and had to take a crying Cooper away from the water a couple of times the following day. Despite being his nervous self at first, Mason quickly braved all the kid and most of the adult water slides. His favorite was the "bobsledding," which was a raft slide. Cooper even got to ride on this slide with Dad. Cooper loved splashing and slides. He even braved some of the bigger kid slides.

We spent time in the indoor theme park as well. Our first order of business was a family ride on the carousal followed by a round of mini golf. Mason and Corey spent a nap time playing arcade games, go karting and another round of mini golf. We ended our trip with a family ride on their ferris wheel, Cooper included, where I was the only nervous one.

We truly had a great time and look forward to our next family vacation!

Back in the Pool

Mason headed back to Wise Swim School last week to start up swimming lessons for the Spring. He has moved up to the big pool and is now a Junior Dolphin. We got off to a rough start in the first lesson re-acclimating to the pool and the depth of the big pool, but rebounded nicely by Week 2. We look forward to seeing him progress in the coming weeks.
